Blitzkrieg Petrol price operation

Petrol and Diesel price have gone up 2-3 fold in Burma. As a Burmese it is not suprising as Burma is now facing with hyper-inflation. What frustated to me ( Probably, Non Burmese will be amazed) is that the price increases was made by military regime done in military style. The instruction to raise up the petrol and diesel price came to the petrol station manager at about midnite all in sudden. Rumours mostly come out before the regime issue actual order, but this time there was no rumours. It was a success in military point of view, but in modern and democratic society it is an absurd to people. Most of the commuters especially low income workers in Yangon face difficulties to pay bus fares on that day because commuter bring only few money in their pocket but bus fares gone up 2-3 fold also. Only few buses operated on that day as operating with current bus fare does not cover the operation cost.

What is the reason behind the blitzkreig price increase? Is it necessary to act like this? Are they worry for consumer price increase if announce in advance? Can they maintain consumer price for long time if they implement that way? The answer is absolutely no. So why they act this way? I think of all optismitic way for the regime, but no possible answer come out.
